Most humans are never fully in the now, because unconsciously they believe that the next moment must be more important than this one. But, then you miss your whole life, which is never not now.”      – Eckhart Tolle

As I was sipping my coffee in bed this morning, I was posting Facebook greetings, when the ever-helpful AutoCorrect decided that I really wanted to write ‘Now’ instead of ‘New’.

It read: Happy NOW Year!

Whoa! That stopped me, mid-sip. Thank you, Universe.

Will this year be your NOW year? How many things do you keep talking about that you want to do…but don’t? You keep saying, “Someday” –  Someday when I have the time, someday when I have the money, someday when I lose the weight. Someday, someday, someday…when everything’s perfect.

How about doing it NOW?11743146_s

Okay, I understand that some things are challenging to make happen right now – like, say you’d love to travel to Europe, but the price of that vacation is out of reach. However, you can begin to plan the vacation, come up with a budget and start putting those pennies away NOW.

What else can you do right NOW?

You can learn Italian for that European vacation NOW. Yes, you have 10 minutes a day and it’s free (DuoLingo).

You can look for that next amazing career move or that dream significant other right now. And, no you don’t need to wait until you lose that last 20 pounds. Losing 20, 50 or 100 pounds won’t make you more qualified for the job or a better partner in a relationship. You’re ready NOW!

You can take better care of your health now. Forget about some elaborate workout plan or the next (Hell, no!) diet. Just pick one small thing you know would be better for you and start doing it NOW. You will feel better, I promise.

This divine kick in the butt rings true for me. I can think of several things I’ve been putting off till ‘someday.’ I tend to do what I’m supposed to be doing and, unfortunately, never get around to the fun part – enjoying my creative avocations. I realize that this is pretty soul-crushing for me.

So, learning to knit is on my NOW list. Several fun sewing projects are on my NOW list. And, making some creative changes to how I work with my wonderful coaching clients is on the list, too.

Being happy is on my NOW list.

Yeah, Happy NOW Year!

How about you? Will 2016 be just another New Year of unrealistic, unmet resolutions? I want to know what’s on your NOW List! Share below in the comments or participate on Facebook or Twitter with #HappyNowYear2016.

With love from your partner on the path,

Lisa :-)
